Best Video Game Soundtrack EVER
The wife and I have been playing through Alan Wake the last several nights. It's really awesome, really scary, and I'm constantly blown away by the licensed music they've managed to get in the game. The Limited Collector's Edition of the game comes with a disc containing some of these, mostly original score music, but I was able to find the complete listing of all the songs in the game: some are classics, some I'd never heard. (Added a couple comments to a few songs)
Roy Orbison - In Dreams
Barry Adamson - The Beaten Side Of Town
The Black Angels - Young Men Dead (My favorite song in the game, sounds like neo-Doors)
Violet Indiana - Air Kissing
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Up Jumped the Devil
Among the Oak & Ash - Shady Grove
Barry Adamson - The Beaten Side of Town
Poe - Haunted
Anomie Bell - How Can I be Sure
Harry Nilsson - Coconut ("Hey Sonny, put this quarter in that jukebox and play A6" "Goddammit Tor, you always play that same fuckin' shit over and over")
Dead Combo - Electrica Cadente
Charles Brown - Black Night
The Rumble Strips - Back Bone
Old Gods of Asgard - Children of the Elder God
Old Gods of Asgard - The Poet and the Muse (This is a fictional 70's classic rock band in the game, breaking down their lyrics for clues in their hometown of Bright Falls is part of the gameplay/story)
Poets of the Fall - War
David Bowie - Space Oddity
On a side note, this is easily the best game I've played this year, and probably my favorite single player experience of the last 5 years.
